Exemestane, commonly marketed as Aromasin, is an aromatase inhibitor used primarily in the treatment
of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Aromatase is an enzyme
responsible for the conversion of androgens, specifically testosterone, into estrogen. By inhibiting
aromatase, exemestane reduces estrogen levels in the body, which is crucial in breast cancer treatment as
estrogen can stimulate the growth of certain types of breast tumors.
In addition to its medical applications, exemestane has gained attention in the bodybuilding and fitness
communities for its potential role in managing estrogen levels, particularly in individuals using anabolic
steroids. Anabolic steroids, synthetic versions of testosterone, are commonly used by bodybuilders to
enhance muscle growth and performance. However, the use of steroids can lead to an increase in estrogen

Dosages can range from 2.5mg every other day to 50mg everyday in the more severe cases of extreme
estrogen dominance and cancer treatment.

bone health, as estrogen is essential for maintaining bone density.
