Clomid

$85.00

Clomiphene citrate, commonly known by its brand name Clomid, is a medication classified as a selective
estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It is primarily used in the field of reproductive medicine to induce
ovulation in women who struggle with infertility due to anovulation (lack of ovulation). While Clomid is
not directly associated with bodybuilding, it has gained attention in the fitness community due to its
potential impact on testosterone levels. However, the use of Clomid in bodybuilding is off-label, and the
available evidence supporting its efficacy for muscle growth is limited.

Clomid exerts its effects by blocking estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus, leading to an increase in
the production of gonadotropins—follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). In
women, this stimulates ovulation, while in men, it can enhance testosterone production by stimulating the
Leydig cells in the testes.
The use of Clomid to raise testosterone levels in men has been explored in various studies. A study
published in the “International Journal of Andrology” (2003) investigated the effects of clomiphene
citrate on serum testosterone, estradiol, and LH levels in men with low testosterone levels. The study
observed a significant increase in testosterone levels after clomiphene citrate treatment.
Another study published in the “Journal of Sexual Medicine” (2013) explored the use of clomiphene
citrate in men with secondary hypogonadism (low testosterone due to a problem with the hypothalamus
or pituitary gland). The researchers found that clomiphene citrate was effective in increasing testosterone
levels and improving symptoms of hypogonadism.
These studies suggest that Clomid may have a role in stimulating testosterone production in men with
low testosterone levels, particularly those with secondary hypogonadism.
